This isn't a direct question about openwrt, but rather, recovering the router to an earlier firmware.
TP-Link has royally goosed the router with the latest firmware, but it's impossible to downgrade from the webui, I have the previous firmware, I would assume its possible to put the router in to tftp mode and send the firmware over that way? Or will there still be a mechanism to prevent the earlier version being flashed?
Would I need to strip the uboot out considering I'm flashing over the top of a stock firmware anyway?

Edit: used binwalk on the firmware file, there is no Uboot in there.
