[TESTING NEEDED] new mtdsplit driver changes

Hi all,

There is a big patchset for the mtdsplit driver that is currently being reviewed, and according to the author:

There is still no test coverage of devices previously using the
"fonfxc", "sge", "allnet,uimage" or "edimax,uimage" compatibles.

So if anyone is available to test images for devices like these with the patch set, the help is appreciated.

generate a token in settings...

and in a new branch from master use the token in this command
git-pw --token <token> --server https://patchwork.ozlabs.org/api/1.2 --project openwrt series apply 225499

then build an image

I have tested the DIR-878 A1 actually, but it was inconclusive. Sysupgrade (keeping settings) broke, the D-Link recovery doesn't like Linux browsers, so I am not a 100% sure it even successfully flashed the factory image. I do plan on testing it again when the work week is out.

I have tested this and confirmed working on my DIR-878 A1, I hope someone with a DIR-882 A1 can try ynezz's images to see if it works for him too.

first version of the patch was like 40 days ago but newest revision just needed testing :laughing:
