Sysupgrade does not upgrade version (wac510, 23.05.3)

Hello,

I need help with my Netgear WAC 510. I know this device well and have had it for quite some time under OpenWRT. I even participated in the modification of the page on the wiki.

Except that I'm stuck in version 23.05.3, no matter what I do.

LuCI openwrt-23.05 branch (git-24.073.29889-cd7e519) / OpenWrt 23.05.3 (r23809-234f1a2efa)

Sysupgrade doesn't give me any error and I can update as usual, except that on reboot I'm still on the same version. I've tried using the same version, a higher version, a lower version, even the original firmware, and no change is visible, the version is still the same.

I've tried completely resetting the device to repeat the same steps, to no avail.

Is it possible to get logs after losing SSH/HTTPS connection with sysupgrade to investigate why the new version is not working? I'd like to upgrade to version 24.10.

Thanks for your help

Maybe the flash became read-only.

How could the chip become read-only when I've already managed to pass updates (chip wear) ? can I confirm this problem in CLI ?

Back up config via web
then sysupgrade to 23.05.5 with config reset
then restore configuration

Thank you, but unfortunately it doesn't work. The device hasn't even been reset!

Are there any logs to track this?

Touch a file and see if it persists after a cold boot. Something like:

touch /marker
