System unreachable after installing the wireguard package on x86_64

Hey,

i tried installing wireguard (via opkg install wireguard) on OpenWrt 18.06.0 and 18.06.2. Platform is x86_64 (APU2 board).
The system is running fine, until wireguard and the associated packages are installed. After a reboot the system is offline and has no more network modules loaded/no network interfaces configured.
The boot log shows this errors:

[5.740165] kmodloader: failed to mmap /lib/modules/4.14.54/ip6_udp_tunnel.ko
[5.750484] kmodloader: failed to mmap /lib/modules/4.14.54/udp_tunnel.ko
[ 5.757600] kmodloader: failed to mmap /lib/modules/4.14.54/wireguard.ko

Any idea on that issue? I searched the forum and google, but did not find this problem noted anywhere.

Cheers,
Dennis
