Support for Netgear WAX615 AX3000

Hello everyone,

Since there isn't a thread here yet, I wanted to open one to talk about support for the Netgear WAX615.

I have written an email to FCC ID.io, hoping that they might add internal pictures to their website since I currently don't have access to the device and can't find any pictures anywhere else. This is because the confidentiality request should've expired.
Because there are no pictures, https://fccid.io/PY321300543 is currently of almost no use, but in the future might be and can at least be used for documentation on the radios.

Just as a sidenote, I am not expecting support, nor am I pressuring anyone to "waste" their time on it.
I hope that it isn't the same issue as can be seen here, but I couldn't figure out if it uses the same SoC.

I happen to have a WAX615, its slower than snot on the current web interface. i use it along with a WAX202 in a wireless bridge configuration, getting both of these on Openwrt would be amazing. what can i do to help?

WAX202 is already supported:
https://openwrt.org/toh/netgear/wax202

Have you got ssh access on the WAX615?

WAX202 has official OpenWrt support a long time ago.....

GPL sources for the WAX615 are here, based on an Openwrt SDK, you could extract the configuration and get the details if needed.

The WAX610 is IPQ6010, and I'm expecting the WAX615 to be also

I'm not sure of how much use I can be here. The device is installed at my parents place and the internal pictures still haven't been added to the FCC's listing.

I'm very glad though that I'm seemingly not the only person owning this device
I'll try my best to add anything of value to this thread in the future.

Good luck to anyone wanting to work on this :+1:
