Support for D-Link DSL-2730U

\ Support for D-Link DSL-2730U**

Hello OpenWrt Community,

I own a D-Link DSL-2730U modem-router and would like to request assistance in adding OpenWrt support for this device. Unfortunately, it seems that this model isn’t listed in the supported hardware table, but its upper model (DSL-2740U) is supported.

Device Details:

  • Model: D-Link DSL-2730U
  • Hardware Version: [e.g., H/W Ver: A1]
  • Chipset: [e.g., Broadcom BCMxxxx]
  • RAM: [e.g., 32 MB]
  • Flash Memory: [e.g., 4 MB]
  • Original Firmware: [Provide a link or attach a file]

Purpose: I want to use this device in client or repeater mode to connect wirelessly to my main router.

Request: Could anyone guide me on:

  1. Porting an existing OpenWrt firmware (e.g., from DSL-2740U) to this device?
  2. Steps to compile a custom firmware if needed.
  3. Any alternative suggestions to achieve Wi-Fi client/repeater functionality.

I’d greatly appreciate any help or pointers!

Thank you in advance for your time and expertise!

Try forum search , 32MB ram devices are no longer supported.

4MB flash, 32 MB RAM and Broadcom is a dead end, hell, each one of them alone makes it a dead end.
