Hi everyone,
I'm trying to set up OpenWRT on an unused FRITZ!Box 7530, with the intention of creating an internal wireless network that is similar to a traditional "guest" network, but without restrictions. Specifically what I want to do is improve wireless strength and create a network with ad-blocking.
I'm on a residential network, where I have a wired access point. Therefore the device has a wired connection, and I'd like my "guest"-style network to create a new network over wireless.
I started from a fresh install, configured the default "lan" network to connect to the upstream with DHCP. The device itself can get a network connection, installing packages etc.
Then I followed the guide at https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/wifi/guestwifi/guest-wlan exactly. I can get an IP address, but nothing more.
Seems my problem is very similar to Guest network does not receive internet, but that never got resolved.
Here are my config files:

There's mention of a VLAN at the device page https://openwrt.org/toh/avm/avm_fritz_box_7530#vlan_setup. That's one thing I haven't tried setting up. Is that necessary here?
Hope someone can help!
Thanks in advance!
