Strongswan, tunnel is up but can't ping hosts

This is my config:

connections {

    ikev2-eap-mschapv2 {
        local_addrs = vpn.xxx.xx
        version = 2
        pools = dhcp
        proposals = aes256-aes192-aes128-sha384-sha256-sha1-modp3072-modp2048-modp1536-modp1024,default
        send_certreq = no

        local {
            certs = cert.pem
            id = xxx.xx
        }

        remote {
            auth = eap-mschapv2
            eap_id = %any
        }

        children {
                ikev2-eap-mschapv2 {
                esp_proposals = aes256-aes192-aes128-sha384-sha256-sha1,default
                local_ts = 192.168.1.0/24
            }
        }
    }
}

secrets {
    eap {
        id = %any
        secret = 12345
    }
}

i can connect

ikev2-eap-mschapv2: #3, ESTABLISHED, IKEv2, fe6afa722a361311_i 44cbfbd16998ba23_r*

but i can't ping or reach my hosts at home with this roadwarrior.

changed

local_ts = 192.168.1.0/24

to

local_ts = 0.0.0.0/0

now i can reach the roadwarrior from my local lan (why?)
but i can't reach lan from roadwarrior...

Also, i don't see any ESP packets with tcpdump, is that normal?
tcpdump -npi any proto 50 <- no packets.

I somewhat did it if anyone is interested:

There is a new module kernel-libipsec which creates a "ipsec0" interface.
Then adding these rules:

-A INPUT -i ipsec0 -j ACCEPT
-A FORWARD -i ipsec0 -j ACCEPT
-A FORWARD -o ipsec0 -j ACCEPT
-A OUTPUT -o ipsec0 -j ACCEPT
-A PREROUTING -i ipsec0 -j ACCEPT
-A POSTROUTING -o ipsec0 -j ACCEPT

Could be dirty but it works. Any better solutions?

Are you using the same subnet on both sites?
I've seen these:
local 192.168.1.0/24
remote 192.168.1.213/32
I don't use strongswan on openwrt but if you are using the same subnet (or even a smaller one that overlaps) then you have to use nat on both ends.

What do you mean? "/32" is assigned automatically. If i force it to /24 nothing works.
Here is my current working config again:

connections {

    ikev2-eap-mschapv2 {
        local_addrs = vpn.xxx.xx
        pools = dhcp
        proposals = aes256-aes192-aes128-sha384-sha256-sha1-modp3072-modp2048-modp1536-modp1024,default
        send_certreq = no

        local {
            certs = cert.pem
            id = xxx.xx
        }

        remote {
            auth = eap-mschapv2
            eap_id = %any
        }

        children {
            ikev2-eap-mschapv2 {
                local_ts = 192.168.1.0/24
            }
        }
    }
}

secrets {
    eap {
        id = %any
        secret = 12345
    }
}

I asked if you have the same 192.168.1.0/24 on both sites.
At the end of your ipsec status you have listed a local subnet overlapping with the remote ip:
local 192.168.1.0/24
remote 192.168.1.213/32
Traffic selectors should not overlap.
