Strange OpenWrt after flashing

I have just flashed my Xiaomi ax3000t and what I see on my screen looks very strange to me. That's not what I expected or saw on the web tutorials. I don't know what it is. Can anyone tell me what do I have to do to get an ordinary OpenWrt?

That's standard Openwrt, what were you expecting to see?

I wanted to see this

That would be the luci-theme-openwrt-2020 theme, which is installable, but not default. The default theme for OpenWrt is -as depicted in your original screenshot- luci-theme-openwrt-bootstrap.

Again, nothing strange or unexpected about your original screenshot.

And what about VPN? How do I set it up in this theme? I know that this router supports VPN but here it is not mentioned at all.

You need to install the VPN packages you need:

It's a silly question, but how do I install additional packages? I didn't know it would be that complicated.

I'm trying to update the list of packages but the system says "Operation not permitted"

How are you trying to do that?

The thing is that my router was not connected to the Internet at that time. After I connect it to the internet, the connection to the router gets reset, because there is one more router with the same IP in my network. And I can't disconnect it, because it's specific, it's connected to the Internet via a telephone chord. I'll try to fined out what I can do. Thanks a lot for help, guys.

  • Plug OpenWrt WAN port to router
  • Install packages

(Although I'm confused why you need these packages if the device doesn't have Internet connection.)

You description implies an invalid network setup.

Also, the luci-theme-openwrt-2020 theme is normally included with some private, pre-official builds.
