I have installed the collectd-mod-sensor, thermal, rrdtool, luci-app-statistics and enabled in setup but can't get the graph to load.
I googled and tried openwrt wiki but no go.
Any help is appreciated.

If I uninstall all the relevant app do I still need to manually delete the config files? What are all the files and path?
Does your router have thermal monitoring/sensors in hardware?

Yes, it's X86 PC like the attached screenshot which has the sensor.
When I had Opnsense installed it showed CPU temps.
You probably also need to install "lm-sensors" package, which will then allow LuCI better to config which sensor you want to enable for monitoring
