You don't need static routes. If configured properly they are part of the same network.
For a start post the whole output of the following:
cat /etc/config/network; cat /etc/config/firewall; cat /etc/config/dhcp ; ip -4 addr ; ip -4 ro ; ip -4 ru
Also something similar to ip -4 addr ; ip -4 ro from the client when connected.
