[Solved]: MacOS Wifi Security Warning and mixed WPA2/WPA3 PSK

Had some issues with trying to resolve MacOS warnings regarding weak security (https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT202068) when connecting to my TPLink RE650 (OpenWRT 23.05) via Wifi.

When I switched to "mixed WPA2/WPA3 PSK, SAE (CCMP)" for encryption, my device would connect however not get an IP address or have any network connectivity.

I managed to fix this by disabling "802.11w Management Frame Protection".

Not exactly sure why this fixed the issue, however may be helpful for anyone else coming across a similar issue.

There are many client devices that don't like mixed mode, it's usually better to use either WPA2 XOR WPA3.

This. When OP applies this advice, Management Frame Protection should work fine with macOS. Device requirements are described here: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/security/sec8a67fa93d/web (search for 802.11w).
