Hi there,
I just can't figure out how to kick a device that has been connected to the guest wifi.
I want to be able to log in to openwrt, see the dhcp lease list and just kick a device, so that it can connect to the wifi again but in the need of entering the password again.
Am I just blind?
Kind regards,
Michael

I don't think there is a way to do it in Luci. Maybe there is something with CLI, but I never tried it.
However the client will not need to re-enter the password, if it is still the same and has saved it.
Ok thx.
And by using ssh? Is there an option via command line?
Regards
There's a disconnect button in the connected devices list...

Unfortunately I don't see it. Where? I can only see the active leases but there is no disconnect button.

It is in the wireless section of the Status > Overview page or in the Network > Wireless page. In both you can see a large DISCONNECT button for each wireless association.

Located in the Associated Stations
section on the Overview
page -
.Well I found the location but there is no disconnect button:
Those are clients in the Associated Stations
screen shot.
If you do it from the Wireless
section, you'll take down the guest network.
Thank you. I changed my last comment and there is also a screenshot of the Associated Stations but unfortunately there is no disconnect button
Is that a TL-WA801ND v2?
If so, you're running an old, unsupported version of OpenWrt.
The last OpenWrt version for that device was 18.06.9.
The oldest supported version is 19.07.

It is a TL-WA801ND v2 indeed. Please don't say I cannot update it...
You cannot update it.
As mentioned, the last version supported was 18.06.9.
With 4 MB of flash and 32 MB of RAM, it does not meet current requirements.
Oh man... So I need other devices that can install the newest OS, right?
Thx anyway...
You would need a device that is supported...correct.

It's such a frequently asked question over the last few years that we really need a post we can point people to.
So your cable company rolled out 500Mbps or 1Gbps download speeds, or you have 1Gbps symmetric fiber (GPON/EPON) from ATT or Centurylink or Orange or whoever. You realize your old all in one router from 2009 is not up to the task of handling this, but hey by now stuff should be cheap and available that will handle your new fiber connection right? So you want advice about a router for…

In the meantime, you might be able to kick a client from guest WiFi using the client's MAC address.
Command line example (one poster tested it on 17.01.4) -
