[SOLVED] [INFO] Issues installing kmods on 6984-fa0275b

I sysupgraded my Meraki MX60W from OpenWrt 18.06-SNAPSHOT r6917-8948a78 to 6984-fa0275b. After rebooting, I could not access my device's opened ports as before. Driving miles to the router, I'm able to login to LuCI and SSH. I can ping the Internet from the router; but the LAN does not have Internet connectivity.

Also, r6917-8948a78 appears to be responding extremely slowly (pages in LuCI load slowly, scripts loaded slowly, etc.) ...in addition, I noticed a very odd thing...tcpdump was installed after flashing, was it added to the new images??? It only existed in flash prior to sysupgrade...perhaps, somehow the partition wasn't wiped...?

I reverted back to r6917-8948a78 to resolve my issues at this time.

Any ideas?

FYI, I flashed a fresh Meraki MX60W with the same BIN and TAR files, no issues...

:thinking:

EDIT: The new Meraki I flashed is also having issues on 6984-fa0275b that renders it inaccessible and therefore, unconfigurable. Upon subsequent boots, you cannot access it; but LAN to WAN worked:

And now, I'm unable to reinstall wireguard:

Collected errors:
 * satisfy_dependencies_for: Cannot satisfy the following dependencies for kmod-wireguard:
 * 	kernel (= 4.14.43-1-01089df83545424fe8f962cffcc5445a) * 	kernel (= 4.14.43-1-01089df83545424fe8f962cffcc5445a) * 	kernel (= 4.14.43-1-01089df83545424fe8f962cffcc5445a) *
 * opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package kmod-wireguard.

....I took a meal break and reflashed (home now too)!

LAN to WAN now works, I just can't install most Kernel modules:

Collected errors:
 * satisfy_dependencies_for: Cannot satisfy the following dependencies for kmod-ipip:
 * 	kernel (= 4.14.43-1-01089df83545424fe8f962cffcc5445a) * 	kernel (= 4.14.43-1-01089df83545424fe8f962cffcc5445a) * 	kernel (= 4.14.43-1-01089df83545424fe8f962cffcc5445a) *
 * opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package kmod-ipip.

(editing title to just reflect issue since a new snapshot will compile soon)

Per this thread:

I simply used the --force-depends argument.

OpenWrt SNAPSHOT r7051-1199a91

I ended up with no firewall and an exposed LuCI on WAN. It appears using sysupgrade -c on the CLI may cause issues.

To fix:

  • Flashed 17.01.4 twice (after the first flash, installed packages still appeared)
  • Flashed OpenWrt SNAPSHOT r7051-1199a91 again
