Ok, so, why am i doing all this in a first place, i want to setup XRay client on router, i previously used TP-LINK AX50 which doesn't have OpenWRT support(and even bandwidth control...oh come on) and so happened i had D-Link DGS-1210-10P in my garage waiting for it's time to shine. What i want to do is: reconfigure one of LANs to WAN and setup a PPPoE(might be Dual Access since i'm in Russia) connection, then give IPs to devices via DHCP.
While poking at things in LuCI i somehow made telegram work, so, seems it had internet connection, but everything else-not so much.
And now i'm here asking for help, cuz apparently i suck at networking...
A switch with appropriate firmware (such as openwrt) can technically route traffic, but because the hardware is not designed for it, it will be incredibly limited in bandwidth.
It is not recommended unless your routing needs are <20mbps
I just want to second this. Iirc I measured 36 Mbit/s or something with these devices. I have an 8 and 16 port version of these D-Link dgs. They are good enough as a simple managed switch but nothing more (sadly)...
