[Solved] Batman_adv Mesh on QCA9880 Kernel Panic (Ath10k: Devolo 1750e)

Hey,

does someone run a secured mesh network with a QCA9880 chip on 5 Ghz? Does it run properly for you?

I am getting a "skbuff: skb_over_panic" when data is transfered over the mesh connection.
The device is connected with a Xiaomi 3G per mesh. Using the 2.4Ghz for the mesh works without any problems.

Could that be a hardware fault?

I am using a Devolo 1750e and tried Kernel 4.19 and 5.4
Currently Powered by LuCI Master (git-20.088.24060-0adf93d) / OpenWrt SNAPSHOT r12752-258f070d1a (Kernel 5.4) with mainline ath10k and ath10k_core rawmode=1.

I opened a ticket: https://bugs.openwrt.org/index.php?do=details&task_id=2941

Yes, I do on a X86 build on a Thin Client connected to various other devices

Thanks for your reply.

I think to have found out the culprit of the crashes. I was using ath10k_core rawmode=1 which was not needed anymore for a mesh link. ath10k.infradead.narkive.com
