So the problem is as follows:

My Xiaomi A1 and my raspberry P3 B+ are unable do to anything with 5GHz. A Download, a stream, a samba/NFS file transfer. 5GHz just disconnects and comes back up. I tried wpad-mini and wpad. My image is self compiled. 2.4 GHz works like a charm without problems.

I just cant see a problem. wlan0 is the 5GHz one.

An Update:

Just to make sure that there is no hardware defect i reverted back to stock and downloaded roughly 800MB with my mobile via 5GHz. no issue.

Is there a current problem with snapshots i'm not aware of?

Did you enable Krack or Sceptre protection?

Yes. On both. Does 5Ghz has an issue with that? I would feel stupid because i didn't disable it during Troubleshooting :neutral_face:

No...but the problem you're exhibiting might be due to having enabled it. Given that functionality mitigates certain group keying vulnerabilities, if there's any issue with the key exchange (e.g. bad reception on air during key attempts), the device(s) will disassociate; and in some cases, the WiFi would lock up and go off-air.

I will Look into that. Thank you! Just Strange that 2.4 isnt affected at all by this.

I now reinstalled Openwrt and it works fine if the KRACK Protection is disabled.

Now i just have to figure out why i 5GHz does not come up if i make changes to it. (executable path /usr/sbin/wpad does not match process error).

So far this Router is a letdown (Stability wise) compared to my wndrmacv2 i used before.

EDIT: Literally Seconds after writing this 5GHz gave up again (After completing 2 Downloads). So the problem is not solved.

How fast is your WAN connection to your ISP?

I solved the mystery. The DFS Channels were the Problem. I never had such problems with my previous router and i couldn't find any info in my logs that this were an issue. Now everything runs fine as long as i don't use DFS Channels. Having the KRACK fixes enabled isn't an issue.
