[Solved] 3g or 4g support to sysupgrade.bin

Hello all and thaks for brilliant software, I have using Openwrt AA 12.09 for years with Elisa Kotiboxi aka Arcadyan ARV4510PW with ADSL connection.
Now I update to 18.06.1 but there is no 3g or 4g support in installion package and I have no more ADSL connection available.
I have tried to install 3g support from local, but not have any succeed?
Now I ask is there any plans to add 3g or 4g support for installion package, because it's much easier to add missing packages directly from internet than try to do it locally - for newbie.
Thanks anyway for your nice work

If you mean support for connecting a USB stick or mobile phone for internet support then try installing the packages kmod-usb-net-cdc-ether and kmod-usb-net-rndis. Remember to update the package list first (opkg update). See https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/wan/smartphone.usb.tethering

How to make easy installion without internet connection?
I try locally copy ipk files to tmp and others but no lucky.
Hopefully, someday 3g support is ready in sysupgrade file as it was in good old days.

There is no easy way. You have to troubleshoot to try to find out what isn't working. Look at the other guides, like https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/wan/wwan/ethernetoverusb_rndis and https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/storage/usb-installing

I think these guides are for internet installion, but I don't have internet connection because 18.06 have ready support only for DSL connection and I don't have DSL connection.
That's why I hope someone who is in charge for new releases... please, add 3g and 4g support for future releases.
It makes nebies life so much easier, and it is also very easy to remove those tiny packages if it takes too much memory?

comgt
kmod-usb-serial
kmod-usb-serial-option
kmod-usb-serial-wwan
luci-proto-3g
totally 47kt

If you have a phone or other device or network you can use as a hotspot then you can try this guide to get an internet connection.

Very few people need those packages and it's a struggle to keep the images small enough to fit into as many routers as possible. That's why they aren't included by default, and probably won't be.

That is the answer I like to hear,
My first post was "Now I ask is there any plans to add 3g or 4g support for installion package"
Now I know there is no plans to add support for mobile connections???
Thats all guys
Thank you

Thank you mbo2o
You are the man, with mobilephone client it was very easy.
Thank you again

is very difficult to make an image ready for 3g connection, there are many type of 3g dongle , with ttyUSB device, or cdc-wdm0 , or usb0 ethernet
if you want an image ready for your router, you must made by yourself, download the openwrt-imagebuilder file for yourclass model and make an image adding the extact package you need

I only ask "How to make easy installion without internet connection?" and I get aswered by
mbo2o
"If you have a phone or other device or network you can use as a hotspot then you can try this guide to get an internet connection..."
That was easy way for newbie - without complex coding and extra softwares.
With few ipk files 3g works fine, but this discussion is not anymore necessary because everyone can read guide from mbo2o´s answer, until coders take off client packages saving memory for something more indispensable option.
