An easy way to install OpenWRT on the RG-EW3000GX-PRO Wireless Router is by using a web browser, without having to think about the complexity of using TTL/UART, as follows:
Make sure the original router firmware is EW_3.0(1)B11P204. If you are still using a newer firmware version, please downgrade the firmware first (download here)
After the router restarts perfectly with the EW_3.0(1)B11P204 firmware. The firmware can upgrade the .bin file from openwrt.
Open a web browser with the IP address 192.168.110.1, please upgrade the Openwrt KERNEL file (download here). Wait a few minutes for the router to restart for a few minutes and get the IP 192.168.1.1
Prepare the Openwrt Sysupgrade file for the Openwrt finalization process (download here). Wait a few minutes for the router to restart for a few minutes and get the IP 192.168.1.1
The process is complete and your RG-EW3200GX-PRO router is now OpenWRT.
I tried the steps above and couldn't flash the original fw as its for 3200. Nor downgrading the current fw allowed me to flash openwrt as they seem to have different chips.
Can you point me to the original thread where ew3000 is being mentioned?
Many thanks
Oh really, open a new thread then.
As per OEM docs
FileTitle EW_3.0(1)B11P380_E4_12231501_encrypto_v1.tar.gz

If I open a new thread is there any chance someone will help me to build a fw for the 3000 version?
It is based on the MT7981 (Gemini dix it...), I can't find much info and I'm new here.
