You can't delete anything from a squashfs partition. Technically you can, but that won't give you more space.

If you build your own image, you can remove something.

Also installing an ath79 snapshot will give you a bit more space.

Another note. It is a 8 MB device. There is a default list of packages in your post.
It is weird that you don't have space. Maybe you copied something to router flash.

Are you sure you have only that space? What partition are you looking at?
