Socat and modem AT command

Hi all,
I am using QUECTEL EC25-E module for internet connection (4G/LTE).
It worked fine until I got "network registration failed".
I used "socat" to send AT commands to the modem, and I noticed a strange behaviour: output of a simple command such ATI shows that the response is repeated many times, and number of repetitions increases exponentially after each new session.

Any idea that may explain response repetitions?
