Shadowsocks has stopped working on OpenWRT 22.03.0

Hello,

I cant seem to get shadowsocks to work it wont let me add another remote server. (All LuCi based commands)

Yesterday I disable the remote server to do some PC tasks without VPN. I then seen 4 or 5 past remote servers that were disabled and no longer available so I deleted them, selected save & Apply and when I enabled the remote server it stopped working. I have removed and re-installed shadowsocks and still not working. The remote server (Outline server) works on my mobile.

I know I am on an old version of OpenWRT but I heard the newer versions are not supporting shadowsocks. I tried wireshark and it doesn’t suit my purpose.

Is shadowsocks (or outline) supported on the newer versions of software? Where can I find a log that will show the issues I currently have with shadowsocks?

Thanks,

JJ

Likely your old ssl library can not communicate with modern ones on all other nodes.
Upgrade OpenWrt to 24.10.4 (via 23.05.any)
You can TRY luci-app-attendedsysupgrade or auc but likely no longer communicating due to old ssl.

Thanks Brada4,

The question is: Does shadowsocks work (supported) on 24.10.4?

JJ

Nope, https://github.com/openwrt/packages/commit/49b83809b38581827ada8bd0deacaa9c6148d33d

You have to find alternative.

I have hev-socks5-tproxy running on 24.10.4. But only using the executable from official package, which is drastically incomplete, regarding complete install. And the manual adaption of firewall rules was a challenge for me. But good excercise
