Setting up wifi relay

Hi,

I am using version 22.0.3.2 of OpenWrt and every time I try to configure it to use relayd

Wi-Fi extender / repeater / bridge configuration

it crashes my Banana Pi R64 and I can no longer access it via wired nor wireless. I have used those instructions in the past with my previous Banana Pi and I managed to get setup correctly, however, that was on a R1 running OpenWrt 19.07.

Here's a funny thing.. When I use the 5Ghz radio to bridge AP to AP rather than the 2.4Ghz, everything works as it should. I now have to set my IP and subnet to ..2.* in order to connect to the now-working bridge. This also changed the Host to a proper ? as it now really doesn't see it. suggests using cables to connect my devices directly to the internet router/modem. However, in my case it would not be a good idea because of tripping over the cable or pulling devices off cupboards.
