What happens when OP sets known good DNS server on the WAN interface?
The laptop is set to fully automatic DHCP. I tried to manually renew my DHCP Lease. But nothing changes, the router doesn‘t promote itself as DNS server.
I did set the DNS servers in the wan interface‘s config. Also without 8.8.8.8 set the router can resolve DNS queries with the two DNS servers provided (which are blacked out):
And yes the interface is named „wan“ just LuCI is capitalizing the name.
So the uni's DNSes work for all queries, then you don't really need 8.8.8.8.
What remains is to figure out why your router doesn't announce itself as DNS through the DHCP.
@admins @Pinolpier can't make any additional posts today, due to new user limit, would it be possible to remove it ?
In the future (for other OPs), an OP can use one post to reply to all (e.g. when I quoted you both in one posting, and didn't use 2) - that would help with the limit.
@Pinolpier
Wrong place in last post.
last option, read the info underneath the field, reboot afterwards.
