Setting up a wireless repeater

Hi,
I followed the instructions at https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/wifi/relay_configuration. But as I have an existing router working on 192.168.2.x, I changed the 192.168.2.x in the instruction to 192.168.3.x.
After step ' Configure LAN Interface', and performing " * Finally, set your PC's Ethernet port to use a static IP in the Wi-Fi extender subnet (e.g., 192.168.2.10) and default gateway (e.g., 192.168.2.1), then use Ethernet to connect again to the extender." My browser is unable to connecty to the new io adres (192.1638.3.1), nor responding to https://openwrt.lan/
How to proceed?

If DNS is managed by non-openwrt AP it is very unlikely you get openwrt.lan working. Check other router's DHCP client list to find your openwrt's MAC address and IP address.

Hi brada4, Thanks for your reply.
In the last step, I changed the router ip address to 192.168.3.1. Also followed the instruction from the youtube link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bfmx5NjIWLQ concerning the change of the laptop Ethernet adapter.
ipconfig shows the following:
Ethernet adapter Ethernet:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
IPv6 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : fda5:66aa:6da4::414
IPv6 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : fda5:66aa:6da4:0:e80f:e7a0:deb9:f7c
Temporary IPv6 Address. . . . . . : fda5:66aa:6da4:0:8409:e49b:45fa:7c00
Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::5b2b:296f:8d8c:8cb3%11
IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.3.10
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.3.1
So (why) would using the routers new ip address in the browser (192.168.3.1) not work?
The lapotop is wired to the LAN port of the router. When scanning the 192.168.3.x range, I can see:
