Hi everybody, I want to restore data from a T-Link N 600 to a T-Link Archer C7 but it does not work. Backup N 600 works fine, restoring Archer C7 ends in a "dead router". My setup:
N 600 OpenWrt 22.03
Archer 7 OpenWrt 24.10
Anybody any idea what I might be missing? Thanks for some help
Yes, you can't do that - so that's the expected result.
The backup tarballs are always at least model specific, in many cases even device specific (MAC addresses, pre-cal values extracted at firstboot time, etc.), you cannot apply them to a different device, even less to a completely different model. While you can use the tarball for your own reference, don't try to shoehorn it onto another device.
