Reset to default settings at power off and port forwarding for torrents on Belkin RT3200/Linksys E8450 router

Friends, I apologize for the trivial questions, but I still haven't found the answers:

1 after power off the router is reset to default settings -- I saw something that the settings are written to memory, which is reset to zero, they can be transferred to permanent memory, but I haven't found it yet

2 port forwarding for qbittorrent also has a lot of instructions, but none of them work so https://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ shows ports open

If the e8450 is resetting to defaults upon power off, you may be running in recovery mode. If so, there is probably a warning to the effect of 'running in initramfs' when you log in via luci. This means something may have gone wrong with the image on that router, and it may need to be reloaded.
