Reproduceable builds with image builder

At the moment I'm building my imageswith image builder. With it I add some of my own software through FILES= and some additional packages through PACKAGE="tcpdump ..."

Once I verified and tested the build to be functional for me I would like to freeze the state of the official .ipk packages and keep using these package releases until I decide it's time to upgrade to newer verisions.

I was thinking about using the ./dl/ folder (contains all upstream packages needed for the build) as only source for further builds and thus keeping the packages at a stable version. Unfortunately I can't find a way to make this work.

any hints warmly welcome!
Mischa

For now I setup a local repo where all the needed packages come from. This works fine for now but there might be a nice more elegant way with flags to make or sth. similar...
