Just an update about my situation.
I moved my router to the top of a book shelf to get better WiFi coverage to do that I bought a cheap 8 port switch to plug everything into.
I now only have 2 Ethernet cables attached to my router a WAN cable and a cable going to my switch and the switch is connecting all the other devices.
I have not seen an internet loss since I made this change a few weeks ago.
Since I changed a few things at the same time I can't say definitively that the switch fixed everything but I think offloading some of the switching to another processor might have helped.

I would love to say it's solved but I can't prove a negative. It just hasn't happened in a little while.
