Outdoor APs typically have omni antennas, which aren't ideally what I want. The geography of my setups usually has the AP attached to a building at the edge of a field where the users are. A CPE type device such as the loco can directly serve users within a 90 degree or so sector out to a distance of 200-300 meters. The AC loco has excellent RF performance for this situation. The problem is that with more than 20 or 30 users connected, it runs out of RAM. I need more like 50 or 60 users (it's not to serve the entire public in the field).
I don't see any similar devices with more CPU and RAM and an internal directional panel antenna. I have ordered a Cudy AX3000 Outdoor to try out. It looks ideal except for the antenna system. So the hardware I want would have:
- Outdoor case
- 5 GHz ax or ac (2.4 not needed)
- Directional antenna
- ARM CPU, sufficient resources for 60 connected users
Does anyone know of such a device? I looked at the Mikrotik candy-bar shaped ones but they do not have strong antennas.
