Deity darn it, you absolute legend — I had that exact reply typed out and ready to hit 'Post'. Now I'm stuck improvising: 'Yep, and the 2200 devices all signed a blood oath and did a group high-five before the release dropped.'
You win this round, but I'm coming for you on the next snapshot.
Debricking not possible. No chance entering fail safe mode. They hinted alot.
It is very old, so its not so tragically. But for someone poorer maybe.
Im very disappointed by such an unprofessional behaviour. I think they have missed, that this device is since early 2023 end of support. Very uncommon because they spared it out for 3 years.
Just debrick using serial - the boot loader seems to be still working. Failsafe only works if the flash went fine. And you even mentioned that there was a warning before flashing ...
For a repeater which has a rest value of 13-20 Euros.
I flashed several routers with warning. Failsafe was still working. The major problem here is the wrong partition. How ever this could not be changed by the flashing process.
Feel fee not to install OpenWRT on your replacement device.
No one here owes you anything.
OpenWRT is only needed if the stock rom is crap or has security flaws which wont be fixed because of end of service/support. Likely for TP-Link routers/repeaters.
I never said OpenWRT is complete garbage. But there are major bugs, like repeating is slow and unstable (client disconection after a few days, needs manual reconnect), tested on countless devices. I used this repeater not as a repeater with open wrt. I used it as a router or wifi client.
Thank you. The u.FL - SMA connector (female) bended. When i tried to plug the male connector in.
With finger tip does not work. The cable is very short, top pressure is no really possible. Using a tool like a plastic scraper (ifixit) will bend the round frame. Bending it back will not work, because is it no more perfectly round.
They used for this angular a custom insertion tool. Even a tweezers slips away.
