Remove 'Software' from Firmware

Hi, is there a way to remove this 'Software' option from firmware?

i usually build image from openwrt firmware selector. I tried using ' -opkg' in firmware selector customize package list but it didnt remove software option from firmware. I want a firmware without this software option so that no software update list and package installing can be done via luci.

You can remove the reference and the functions but the space taken will not free up.

To clean it up you need to flash it clean and only add packages you still want.

Oh, I msread, sorry.
You can remove the LuCI packages or use a snapshot, (that will not have LuCI at all, unless you add the LuCI packages)

-luci-app-opkg ; but I suspect it may be bigger.

i will surely check and let you know whether it works or not

nope. its still there and i can update list and install packages

i do not want the entire luci to be removed, just the software section :frowning:

I suppose you could edit using HTML.

My HTML is decades old so I have no advise on that.

luci-app-opkg is a dependency of the luci and (the various-) luci-ssl meta packages, if you want to remove the former, you need to remove (and dissolve/ dereference) the later as well.

I've just tested and found a recipe that should work:

Remove: opkg luci
Add: uhttpd uhttpd-mod-ubus libiwinfo-lua luci-base luci-app-firewall luci-mod-admin-full luci-theme-bootstrap

You can build this image using the firmware selector.
