Remote access Hotspot

Hello,
I have a CM-520-68F Hotspot and it is being tested in a restaurant to measure the amount of access and the quality of the signal. He has two mobile phone chips. The problem is that I can only access Luci when I am logged in to the Hotspost network.
How do I configure Luci so that he can access it remotely from another network, for example: Me being at my residence and having access to the Hotspost in the restaurant that is 2KM away?
Thank you and I look forward to that help.

You need to open port 80 or 443 on your firewall. Which I would not recommend even if you change listening ports of LuCI.

Instead I would open port 22 on the router device (this can be done over LuCI Administration - SSH Access - checking either WAN or unspecified (I think LAN is default, but I don't know exactly). Then you could use SSH with option -L

e. g.:

ssh -L 8888:localhost:80 -p 22 root@IP

You now can access your router/LuCI within the browser with http://localhost:8888.

IP = your routers WAN IP; If it's cascaded setup e. g. another router in front of your Hotspot router then you have to route the traffic properly with firewall rules on that frontdevice (and using other port then 22 for your SSH setup)!

Personally, I recommend WireGuard or OpenVPN.

Wireguard is easier to set up. And faster.

Well beside my quick 'n' dirty solution I would recommend wireguard also. Personally I'm using it also and I would avoid OpenVPN because it's ugly to configure.
