I have used the WRT1900ACS for the past 3 years and I'm very impressed with its (wired) routing capabilities. I'm now creating VLANs to keep the "smart" devices and kids' devices on separate networks. I need at least 2 new APs. I recently got both the Archer C7 and the Netgear R7800. I'm impressed with the former as an AP, but I can't see any advantage of using the more expensive R7800 as an AP. I could still return it. Am I missing something? Is there an element of "future proofing" by using something like the R7800 as an AP over the C7? Do you have any further recommendations? I have a gigabit Internet connection. Many thanks!
