Recommendation for a Layer 2 Switch (no Wifi)

Dear all,

I have five OpenWrt Access Points distributed around our house. All have Fast Roaming enabled.

I had switched them together by a Lancom 2326. That switch, however, caused trouble by memorizing all MAC addresses too well. Once it learned that MAC address X was on switch port Y, it wouldn’t permit fast roaming to switch port Z.

Now, I am looking for a managed 16 port gigabit switch (no Wifi) which is known to permit fast roaming. Would you share your recommendations with me?

Thank you kindly!

Kind regards,

Lancom is very stubborn sticking MAC to port for 5 minutes and not letting it go. Good for a server room.
Just set FDB ("Dynamic MAC table aging" in lancom) to few seconds, like 5 or 15.

Are you looking for a switch that is capable of running OpenWrt firmware?
If so check https://toh.openwrt.org/?features=type_switch

Not necessarily…

Wrong place to ask in this case..... FIX YOUR CONFIGURATION. Most "enterprise" switches do not accomodate fast running devices.
