Recent snapshots cause bootloop in TEW-692GR (RT3883 based)

Hello all,
I'm trying the latest snapshots, but the ones since Thursday until Today's cause the device to go into a bootloop (boot logs attached below). Release 18.06.1 works fine.

I've tried both factory and sysupgrade versions and done "clean" flashes. The problem seems to be that it cannot find the root fs. Because of the bootloop, I can't engage in the failsafe mode, instead having to recover the router through TTL-Serial and TFTP. Any help is appreciated.
