RE6500 unresponsive after flashing 23.05

I did firstboot yesterday. I don't appreciate your treating me like I'm being dishonest about the situation. I would appreciate it if you answered the questions I asked you directly earlier.

Re-enabled S98sysntpd, S80ucitrack, S50cron, S50uhttpd without ill effect. Can now open the LuCI web interface. The system log is too long to paste into a single post so here's everything up until it starts the first user space process

I see it works just fine?

Re-enabled S19dnsmasq and S35odhcpd, can still get into LuCI and ssh. However, LuCI is kinda laggy, and the 'memory' and 'storage' sections of the main status page look a bit worrisome...

Memory

Total Available472.00 KiB / 54.27 MiB (0%)
Used44.18 MiB / 54.27 MiB (81%)
Cached3.13 MiB / 54.27 MiB (5%)

I can easily imagine that the original problem was that, with all the stock daemons running, it was completely out of RAM and thrashing.

Storage

Disk space224.00 KiB / 1.50 MiB (14%)
Temp space72.00 KiB / 27.13 MiB (0%)

df from SSH confirms that the overlay filesystem /dev/mtdblock6 really is that small. Is it supposed to be that small? I do need to be able to install relayd on this thing...

Install zram-swap package
It is very unlikely, stock boots using 20-25MB ram.

If you're going to ignore most of each of my posts then please stop trying to help.

You understand there is a HUGE difference between no connection and sluggish performance.

I already asked you to quit acting like I'm making things up. This is the stock 23.05 image.

Please reread my last several posts and then acknowledge that you understand the troubleshooting process I am working through, at what point in the process the behavior of a normal boot changed from "no connection" to "works but slow", and what I did to make that happen.

I understand - you dont enter failsafe - as you at same time claim you cannot connect, then that in failsafe luci works which never starts there....
Always check mount -v if overlay is present as sign of full boot.

Read it all again.

I red it very carefully, invisible ghost disables services and restores crypto keys whenever you reset the configuration.

It is me who is disabling and enabling services, as you would know if you had actually read and understood what I wrote. I was very clear about what I was doing at each step.

Meanwhile, I've gotten a bit farther on figuring out what is actually wrong. As far as I can tell there are three separate issues:

  1. The LuCI web interface in 23.05 is just too heavyweight for this device. Even when all system services besides uhttpd are disabled, it lags.
  2. If /etc/rc.d/S19firewall is allowed to execute, SSH access stops working. This still happens even though the entire firewall configuration has been commented out.
  3. Enabling either of the WiFi radios (2.4GHz or 5GHz) at all (very specifically commenting out the "option disable 1" line, without any other configuration) also makes SSH access stop working.

I could live with the first two of these problems, but the third is a showstopper, and I am out of ideas.
