RE305 Mesh Wi-Fi

you are also calling the end of life devices, like the vendor tp-link did

I wanted a free/cheap solution to roaming
I have already bought a TTL adapter that I didn’t really need but I can hopefully bring my RE200 back to life

My RE450 is at most 5 months old

The price of the RE450 is all I am willing to spend of network equipment

Isn’t the whole point of openwrt to bring new life to these devices

This happened last as well everyone just continuing with there own thing from 50 posts ago

We have a solution here I just forgot to mark it

No, certainly not "the whole point". One of the advantages of OpenWrt is that it CAN bring new life to EOL devices in many, but not all, circumstances.

If it works for you, excellent.

except it dosn't support all my devices so its useless having it on only 2/3 as 802.11r will not work

Congratulations on successfully bringing new life 2/3 of your devices, hence saving you 66% on your future mesh hardware purchase.

For your project - be sure to select a third device whose WiFi chip is fully supported by OpenWrt.
