Raspberry Pi 4B with OpenWrt 24.10.2 and TPLink AC1300

I have a Raspberry Pi 4B with OpenWrt 24.10.2 and a TPLink AC1300 (Archer T3U Plus).

After searching a bit and looking at this I have installed the following modules:

kmod-rtw88 kmod-mac80211 kmod-crypto-arc4 hostapd-common kmod-mac80211-hwsim kmod-mt7921u kmod-mt76x0u

The adapter shows up in network interfaces and I can set it up but I can't view the AP from any devices.

Any help would be appreciated.

Post lsusb for the device.

Although here's the output for dmesg | grep -i usb if that helps:

Did you make it past the initial post in that thread ?

Install the relevant package ?

I went through the thread yes but could not find much else to do.

I could not install usbutils before but somehow it worked this time (:

Well, it's Realtek, they're usually shitty for AP.

What's the output of iw list ?

Output's too long for here):

Post the top half, the part that fits.

Any updates on this?

based on https://github.com/morrownr/USB-WiFi/blob/main/home/USB_WiFi_Chipsets.md, try a snapshot.
ideally, dump it, and get something MediaTek based instead, correlate with the page above.
even better, get a plastic box router/AP for the wifi.

I see):

Thanks for the help!

here’s an old thread. But a lot of the usb info should be accurate still

I solved it!! I made a fresh install and just did

opkg install kmod-rtw88-8822bu

and it worked!! I was looking at

TP-Link AC1300 Archer T3U Plus driver - #16 by lolidktbh

but the whole thing wasn't doing it for me so I just did Step 6 on a fresh install and voila!
