just bought a mt7921au usb wifi dongle today. it works well but does not automatically start on boot. i have to manually press restart and then everything works.

Bangladesh allows very few wifi channels.
1/ set country / save apply
2/ set width to 40 / save apply
3/ choose one of 3 channel options.
Probably set SoC *cypress" radio to 2.4ghz band .
manually set country, width, channel and the SoC radio. nothing worked. stays inactive.
- older thread, but do a quick flyover, if anything grabs your attention: WiFi does not turn on automatically on startup
- you can dump
logread
output to a disk file, right after a reboot, once with and once without USB wifi dongle, and compare the files, whether anything suspicious shows up - check if your powering is ok. Though having lots of ports, the powering of USB devices on RPi is not very strong and meant more for input devices and sensors, it can be overwhelmed easily with hard disks, Wifi dongles, >100m LAN dongles and mobile network dongles. If you have a powered USB hub, try if it makes any difference.
