R7800 image size

Hi,

I wonder why on my r7800 builds from master or 21.02 the size of sysupgrade or factory image is about 55 to 60 mib and my builds for wrt series or the r7800 stable version are about 15 and 20 mib.

Btw, my config is pretty small, I don't have many packages...

Idea?

Likely something wrong in your config.
Start from a clean .config or a pruned diffconfig output.

I get a bit lost with your versioning...

What do you mean by stable here? 22.03?

There have been problems with some large packages earlier, like e.g. here

Build for Netgear R7800

I just built a new image based on the current master, and it's more than twice the size (~70MB) than the image I built 2 months ago (~30MB). Same config / same packages. Any idea on how that is possible? I think the kernel update alone can't possibly be responsible for an increase of this magnitude!?

do you have samba4 inside? it is the only package that created me this sort of problems.. it is somehow related to build debug information, there is a specific option in the menuconfig to disable this

What do you mean by stable here? 22.03?

I mean them from open wrt official releases
