How come there is a version for R6900 V2 and would anyone be able to make one for netgear r6900 v1. It has enough memory and flash to run it and I would greatly appreciate if anyone could help me out so I don't lag anymore.

It's probably Broadcom based, you might have better luck over at ddwrt.
There are posts on internet saying it's the same device as the r7000, but we won't know until someone actually opens one up...
V1 is indeed Broadcom...
V2 is MediaTek...
