Questions for installing openwrt on EA8300

Hello, I am looking at the https://openwrt.org/toh/linksys/ea8300 For the Upgrading OpenWrt from 22.03.5+ into 23.xx or snapshot images step 2. I understand that we have to use a serial link to the router? I did a search for other posts and I think that they just increased the size in the SSH console without using the serial link, please.

the page you linked to says SSH ?

Hi.
There is no need of a serial link for upgrading to 23.05. What you need is to change a bootloader variable with SSH. Instructions here (same for EA8300)

this is exactly the same link as the one already given ?

The easy approach would be installing an older version (with a small enough kernel), doing the bootloader changes (fw_setenv) and then sysupgrading (without retaining settings) to the current version.

No. You linked to the EA8300 installation instructions. I linked to the MR8300 ones. I wrote the MR8300 ones and they were copied to the EA8300. Better link to the original ones.

Thank you everyone!
