Question about Netgear WAC124

Hi.
The Netgear WAC124 is claimed to be an AP, not a router. Meanwhile it has an internet port. Is this port acting as WAN while under OpenWrt ? If so, does the WAC124 act like a classical router ?
The device seems close to the R6260 which is claimed to be a router.

so it seems https://openwrt.org/toh/netgear/wac124#network_interfaces

I have read this before asking, but I prefer to have confirmation from someone who is actually using the device on OpenWrt.
I'm looking for a basic router with Mt7621, a Linksys EA7300 or the Netgear WAC124 if it can be set as a router.

WAC124 is a router although it is advertised as an AP. I am using it for couple of years now, not yet installed Openwrt.

Thank you.
