Hi, I got my hands on the WXR-5950AX12 so I tried the latest NSS build firm, and it's performing exceptionally well. However, I’ve fond some strange behavior.
I’ve set up VLANs on the 10G port of LAN1 and created several virtual access points, but there's a difference in download speed when the switch ports are linked at 1G and 10G.

At 10G link speed, both download and upload speeds during LAN communication reach around 1.7-1.9 Gbps.
However, when linked at 1G, the download speed inexplicably drops to around 500-600 Mbps, while the upload speed remains at 1 Gbps.

In theory, if I'm getting over 1 Gbps during 10G link, both DL/UL should reach at least 900Mbps. This behavior seems a bit odd to me.

The switch I'm using is an Allied Telesis X510L switch, and I tested it with both a 1 Gbps port and an SFP+ port. The 10G-T SFP+ connected to the SFP+ port is MikroTik's S+RJ-10. The cables used and the testing locations are the same.

Is there any possible cause that could be considered, such as needing to tune the bridge?

Okay, so interesting thing... The port works "fine" for me. In the sense that I momentarily get DHCP, but then it gets wonky and drops the DHCP connection. If IP is specified manually, it works just fine.

My device is the WXR-5950AX12, manufactured by Buffalo. I haven’t added any additional firmware. I checked dmesg and /lib/firmware, but I couldn’t find any messages related to firmware loading. However, the 10G ports appear to be functioning. When I use iperf to test bandwidth between the router and servers, I achieve speeds of 4-5 Gbps, indicating that the drivers are working reasonably well.

Additionally, I attempted to migrate vlans from lan1.* to wan.* and lan2.* (1G port), but unfortunately, I didn’t observe any significant difference.

I'm satisfied with the speed when connected to the 10G ports, but it's a little strange.

OpenWrt doesn't come with preloaded AQR 10G FW,. You should have installed it yourself following the procedure for running OpenWrt on QNAP.
Unless anyone else installed it before you.
Previously the only way to load the 10G FW was via U-Boot.
Recently there was a commit that allowed it to be loaded by kernel from userspace or NVMEM.

I flashed my 301W in the early days of the OpenWrt development, then shelved it - only started tinkering with it again recently. So it was the U-Boot method.

I did just flash the official AQR FW into mtd10/mtd11, and now I'm getting the same issue, nothing comes through 10g-1, with the same uniphy autoneg timeout.

IIRC @robimarko did some work on the autoneg for the 301w a good while ago, as we had issues with 2.5G/5G negotiation on the 10g-1 port (and that port only!) - could this be a related issue?

I suspected this issue is present on NSS builds no matter if stock or generic AQR 10G firmware is used. But looks like with MBN variant loaded from U-Boot at least works most of the time.
AFAIK it is not present currently on regular OpenWrt builds.
I wanted to test this more extensively but didn't have enough spare time.

I did some experimenting.

10g-2 is brought up almost immediately, whereas 10g-1 needs quite some time to appear:

To give an estimate, I plugged into 10g-2 at around 72-73s dmesg time.
Unplugged at 79s.
Immediately plugged into 10g-1 (maybe a 1s delay)
10g-1 notices link-up 10 seconds later at 91.84s

Looks like that uniphy autoneg has a much longer timeout on the stock OpenWrt builds than in the NSS builds provided by @AgustinLorenzo as you can see from previous logs that the autoneg timeout happens within 2-3 seconds of plugging into 10g-1.

Another interesting tidbit is that 10g-2 will have its GREEN LED turned on when plugged into, whereas 10g-1 activates the ORANGE LED.

For what it is worth... Orange is the correct color for 10g ports that are using a link of less than 10g. Green is supposed to only be on if you have a 10g link.

I am using the firmware extracted from the stock firmware. I don't have the custom boot command. For what it is worth the custom command and custom firmware together work. It is just using the official firmware that causes the issue.

Loading AQ FW from NVMEM works on official builds but not Lorenzo's NSS.

Exactly... Do you have the mbn custom firmware flashed or just the bootcmd with the official firmware.

EDIT: For what it is worth... I flashed a build from a nss repo that did not have nss build.. in fact it was pretty much just regular openwrt from build using that repo... It still did not bring up the 10g-1 port. Looks like this is not NSS related but something in the nss repos is causing this behavior.

I also am now going to flash mbn and bootcmd so that nss builds work and use that until there is a fix.

Probably a commit or patch that was applied to the NSS repo and worked with MBN and U-Boot.
We have a starting point from the commit that introduced support for the kernel to load the AQR 10G FW only a month ago.
I suppose more testing is needed.
