Qotom-Q3XXG4-P no wireless under network tab

So I am trying to use the following device as a router

I have been following this guide:

which seems equivalent to this one

Finally I followed this one

Installation went fine, and I added the following packages hostapd kmod-ath9k ath9k-htc-firmware
However, even after multiple reboots there is still no wireless tab under networks. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

Unsure which logs you are looking for but here are some of the specs

Happy to provide more info, but currently unsure which logs / error messages you need. I have tried my best looking at the wiki, but nothing quite seems to hit my exact configuration.

Thanks in advance

Hope you want to use it as a wireless client, because AP's a no go with Intel.

The ath9k packages you've installed have nothing to do with the intel card.

Yes, I want to use it purely as a wireless router. I was able to get up the wireless page by installing kmod-iwlwifi and iwlwifi-firmware-ax200. This gets up the page, but it still does not seem to be able to read my card. The radio 0 shows

Generic MAC80211 802.11acaxbgn

Channel: auto (? GHz) | Bitrate: ? Mbit/s

And this of course does not enable me to add any wireless networks

Unless you enjoy 11n speeds, replace it.

Sorry english is not my first language, nor am I very experienced with networking. What does "11n speeds" mean? What does "AP's a no go with Intel"? And "Replace it" what the entire computer, the network card?

802.11n speeds, so N wifi.

Replace network card, although I'd replace the whole thing, the CPU's 10 years old.

What would be an useful card to use? I already have installed an ipv6 card in the machine

Depends on what the slot looks like, if it's m.2 or mPCIe, the spec at Amazon says mPCIe.
Assuming it's correct, this would work.

IPv6 isn't a hw thing.

I do have an old router lying around, could I be running openwrt on the small pc and then control the router from it?

Yes, and use the old router for the wifi, configured as dumb AP.
