Thanks for keeping me on my toes))
I'm new to OpenWRT, I don't understand anything, but I'm learning.
I run a summer mini-hotel with a maximum of 60 devices on peak summer days. Usually, it's 30-40. The network is PPPoE and runs at 200/200. On my old Mikrotik equipment, I simply limited the speed to 10 Mbps for everyone on the network, and everyone was fine. Now that I've upgraded my equipment to OpenWRT, I realize the same trick won't work here. So, I'm looking for a way to make my guests comfortable on my network, so that torrent downloaders don't interfere with their YouTube viewing, etc. I first tried SQM, but it doesn't work properly for me, and people say it uses a lot of CPU. Then I found QoSmate. It really helps Bufferbloat. My performance has improved significantly, but I don't know if it's suitable for my purposes or how it will perform with 60 connected devices. The hotel is empty right now, with only my family staying, so I can't test a large number of connections. But I want to be prepared for an influx of guests. That's why I'm here. If it really helps distribute traffic evenly between devices, then it's exactly what I need! I'm even willing to be a tester (if you teach me how). But if it doesn't work for me, then I'll be sad and continue searching for the right tool.
