"put u-boot into ram and start it"?

Hi, dear Forum,

I am flashing OpenWrt into EasyBox 803 - openwrt.org/toh/astoria/arv752dpw22#installing_openwrt
(section #Install OpenWrt via serial port)
So I've done the part "cat ARV752DPW22_boot.dump openwrt-lantiq-danube-ARV752DPW22-squashfs.image > flash.img" and sx flash.img </dev/ttyUSB0 >/dev/ttyUSB0

and then "put u-boot into ram and start it"? What exactly to do?

Thank you in advance.

Isn't that the bootm command, in uboot?

Type help while in uboot.

Hi, thanks :slightly_smiling_face:

but how to force uboot to autoload openwrt?

you need to write it to flash 1st.

booting from flash should be the default action.

Thats the question,
after flashing tis flash.img ( cat ARV752DPW22_boot.dump openwrt-lantiq-danube-ARV752DPW22-squashfs.image > flash.img )
which steps from this manual should be done to write uboot into flash?

this doesn't flash anything, you're just joining to files into one.

the rest is in the wiki, erase flash blocks, and UL the file using Xmodem.

sorry for misunderstanding, sure it is to merge files.
I meant, after flashing this flash.img there is a string: "The openwrt image is on the flash but it doesn't start automatically because u-boot isn't on flash yet. To boot OpenWrt put u-boot into ram again and start it. That's it."
Which stepts from wiki should I do to flash uboot?

I am just afraid to brick the router, thats why here is dummy questions.

Thank you.

Just keep reading on that same wiki page?

(Except, the instructions abruptly stop with the sentence the OP noted.)

It may help to tell the OP that the instructions they're seeking seem to resume one section down.
