Hello,
I have a 'main' router netgear wax206 attached by cable to an extender netgear ex6150v2 and to a LG smarttv (wired connection to the wax206).
After upgrading to rc6 the smart tv stopped working (all the apps thinks they are offline). After trying to fix that without success, since im not expert, I've decided to downgrade to rc5 via luci: everything was working and the extender (as it has always been, was connected at 1gb by the cable).
Then, since tomorrow I need the connection for work, I've decided "to be safer" to downgrade the wax206 to 23.05 via nmrpflash. Everything seemed working fine (as it always did in the past, the TV was working good) BUT I've noticed the extender now connects to 100mb only and not anymore to 1gb trough the cable.
Luckily I have a "backup" 6150v2, so I've connected it (rc5): still 100mb
So I've upgraded it to snapshot: still 100mb
Then I've upgraded the wax206 to snapshot: still 100mb
I've switched the port on the router: still 100mb
I did reboots and anything i can think of: 100mb
I never had this problem in the past (I use openwrt from 3 years in this house/config)
What can I try?
Thanks for any advice
Any chance to try with a different cable?
No, because the cable is running meters away in the wall. Btw I just managed to exclude the cable, since I have an old glinet b1300 I've put that in place replacing the wax206, and with the b1300 the extender connects back to 1gb...
Well, that means not all pins are connected. I'd look at your cable and the socket is goes into.
Sometimes they are misaligned (stuff gets in there) and do not connect proper.
Well, the same extender on the same cable connects at 1gb with the glinet b1300. And on the wax206 I've already tryed to switch port. I dont understand what pins are you referring to.
Yes I was asking if extender side or router side. Btw also if the pins are perfectly aligned (looking at them) seems that changing again port, worked. Thanks then. Also the smart tv connects well now. I am on snapshot now, btw mediatek snapshot have been compiled on 24/1 while ipq's from 26/1. Everything seems working btw, so who cares.
Ok 1st up try another cable for 100Mhz, they brake while being disturbed
carry it back to the switch try a sort cable for 5 mines and check connection speed
you keep using the word extender but say cable
extender are all radio, no cable involved
a dump access point is what is sounds like you need setup and or had set up
this is not the default and while updating it sounds like you have
defaulted it back into a router and adding another NAT layer
