Problem with speedtest-netperf.sh

I am getting "WARNING: netperf returned errors. Results may be inaccurate" when I try running speedtest-netperf.sh. If I ssh into my friend's system, I can run the script using the same switches and it does not end in errors. How can I debug?

speedtest-netperf.sh -p 1.1.1.1 --sequential -t 30
2020-11-24 14:02:16 Starting speedtest for 30 seconds per transfer session.
Measure speed to netperf.bufferbloat.net (IPv4) while pinging 1.1.1.1.
Download and upload sessions are sequential, each with 5 simultaneous streams.
